About the DSacted’s course:

This is an integrated course by DS Actuarial Education Services taking place in Nagindas Khandwala college. An Aptitude test determines admission eligibility. Thus, the batch size varies every year.

It is a three-year course consisting a total of six semesters. 11 Actuarial papers are covered in 3 years. Each of these subjects will help you clear that particular actuarial exam.

Each semester consists of internal exams and final exams.

The college timings are 1:30pm to 6:30pm for six days a week (Monday to Saturday). Also, 75% attendance is a must.

In this case we do not require any separate coaching class for these exams because this is already an integrated course that teaches you the actuarial subjects required to clear the Indian or UK exams.

Conclusion on DSacted:

Personally, I feel that BCom (Hons) in Actuarial Science from DSActed is definitely a good option. I am 1.5 years into this course and I can say that it has not only expanded my knowledge on different subjects but also impacted my personality in a positive way.

This course has its own pros and cons.

For some people 75% attendance would be a problem, but for some it would not be, because they would not mind attending lectures every day. Simultaneously, for some people, travelling would be an issue since this college is in Malad, but for people living in the same city or closer areas it would not be such a big of an issue. I know a few people in my batch who have left their family in their home city to come to Mumbai and are living in hostels.

Therefore, everyone has their personal advantages and disadvantages. The important part is to conquer these disadvantages and to focus more on our strengths. Remember, it’s all about perspective.

Actuarial science is a good career option for sure, but it’s all about how well you manage your time, how well you understand each subject and apply it practically, your interest towards a particular subject and last but not the least, how focussed you are throughout the course.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to the 13 actuarial exams. More the number of papers you clear the better it is for you; in terms of the job and salary you get. The degree and course you choose are not as important as these exams. Scoring well and passing these exams should be your motive. There will be failures, so do not get discouraged because every failure means that you are one step closer to success.

Finally, I hope this article provides you with the right amount of information you require in choosing this course. You can find more information on the college website (i.e.,http://www.nkc.ac.in) and on the DSActed website (https://dsacted.com).

Thank you for reading and have a great day!
