The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) could conduct online or postpone the April 2020 Diet exams amongst the health crisis created all over the world by coronavirus.
We are not sure if this applies to CP2 and CP3 as these are practical exams and can be given from the home itself. As it mentions “written” exams, we expect CP2 and CP3 to be held as scheduled. However, confirmation is required on this matter from the Institute.
The IFoA today itself updated their guidelines on their site. You can read the old updates here.
Update as on 20 March 2019
The IFoA can confirm that it will not be holding the upcoming April written assessments in examinations centres due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
We appreciate that this is a stressful time for our students.
This decision has been made to protect our students’ wellbeing following the advice of governments in the countries where our students study.
We are, however, keen to explore any ways that will still enable us to run our examinations as we know our students have undertaken a great deal of study and want to maintain their progress.
We are continuing to look at the options: this includes moving to online assessmentor possibly to a postponement.
We expect to provide an update on this announcement next week.
We can confirm our students will be given options for their April examination registrations which respond to their own personal circumstances. As soon as we are able to confirm arrangements, we will do so.
Owing to the current COVID-19 situation all IFoA employees are now working remotely. This will significantly reduce our ability to respond to phone calls so we would ask that all enquiries are made by e-mail.
We will endeavour to email examination candidates if any of the information above changes; our goal is to give you the most complete information available as quickly as possible.
Please read our Coronavirus policy page for more information about our response to the pandemic.
A note from The Actuarial Club
Earlier, IFoA had the section of Exam cancellation which is now removed. this move may suggest that the year would have 2 diets whether the April 2020 Diet exams postpones or taken online.
We request you to keep visiting the IFoA update page as the information is very volatile from time to time and change at any moment.
