Position Overview Under supervision, performs valuation/financial reporting duties and support senior valuation actuaries by developing/maintaining actuarial models used to support planning, regular financial reporting, economic capital refinement, cash flow testing and other such uses. Performs experience analysis on mortality/morbidity and lapse periodically on the reinsurance business written by RGA in Indian Market. This would cover the study on life, accident, critical illness, disability and other health related benefits as per business requirements under the supervision of senior valuation/pricing actuaries.
Responsibilities
Under supervision, candidate refers to a work program and deadlines. Decision making involves procedural actions on occasions where new circumstances arise, but must stay within guidelines provided. Takes action in uncertain cases, referring problems to supervisor when required. Performs valuation duties and support senior valuation actuaries by developing/maintaining actuarial models used to support reserve valuation, experience studies, planning, cash flow testing, etc. Co-ordinates with Reinsurance Admin Function and ensures that the data provided is appropriate and complete for Valuation and Experience analyses purposes and should be able to analyse the data provided. Assists with the development of an enhanced financial planning and projection infrastructure and with the development of advanced financial reporting frameworks. Develops, maintains and/or reviews actuarial models for assigned blocks of business. Develops unbiased financial plans for assigned blocks of business and assists with the communication of financial results in terms of major sources of variance. Assists by providing support to senior valuation actuaries and with special projects. Utilizes PC skills, including spreadsheet, database, and actuarial software.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field. At least one year’s relevant experience and 5 CT papers completed from The Institute of Actuaries of India. Has any working knowledge on programs such as Oracle, SQL & VB. Working knowledge of handling Prophet or any other actuarial software. Knowledge on US GAAP and or Indian GAAP reporting.
